Occupy protesters who set up camp in Queen Square, Bath, have moved on.

The campaigners - who are opposed to financial inequality and politicians' handling of the economy - have been at the site since 30 October.

On their Facebook page, which about 400 people have joined, the group thanked people for their support.

The protest is part of an international anti-capitalist and anti-poverty movement.

In a statement on Facebook the members said they hoped to keep meeting as a group.

"We hope that we can carry on with projects such as the People's Assembly.

"Last night [Saturday] we decided on the slogan 'we clean up our mess, unlike the banks'".

The Liberal Democrat-controlled Bath and North East Somerset Council said it would be sending in teams to clean the Georgian square.
