A man has been charged with explosives offences after a police raid led to residents in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, being evacuated.

Phillip Leonard, 36, is accused of four counts of making explosives, after being detained on Friday.

About 30 people were evacuated and a cordon was set up after the raid in Beatty Way.

Mr Leonard, of Burnham, is due to appear before Taunton Magistrates' Court on Monday.
