Cash taken from bank delivery van in Oldfield Park, Bath

Robbers have stolen what police said was a "considerable amount" of money after targeting a van delivering cash to a bank in Bath.

Police said two men ran away after the raid at the Moorland Road branch of Lloyds Bank, in Oldfield Park, at about 11:15 GMT.

Officers said one of the men had been wearing a balaclava.

A member of the public, a man in his 80s, was treated for minor cuts and shock after being pushed to the ground.

A black Mercedes saloon car with a cash box inside was later recovered and is being examined by police.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said "a considerable amount" of money had been taken during the robbery on the cash-in-transit vehicle but would not comment on the exact amount.

"Anyone who witnessed the attack should contact police or Crimestoppers," he added.

The injured man was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath to be assessed.
