Work begins on Radstock's congestion-beating road layout

Work has got under way on a new road layout plan in Radstock, which the council hopes will reduce congestion.

Bath and North East Somerset Council's plans involve linking up The Street, which is currently one-way, and Frome Road in the town centre.

The new road layout will also enable the construction of a housing estate.

Fears were previously raised during a public consultation over the potential loss of trade in the high street and increased town centre traffic.

Work is expected to take about six months to complete.
