Woolavington crash driver was Professor James Perry

A driver who was killed in a crash with another vehicle in Somerset has been named by police.

Professor James Henry Perry, 65, from Burnham-on-Sea, died at the scene on the B3141 Causeway at Woolavington on Friday.

Police said both his Ford Mondeo and a VW Golf had come to rest in ditches following the crash.

The Golf driver managed to get out of his car and was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital with a head injury.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the force.
