Bridgwater stabbing: Murder accused Anthony Andrews in court

An 83-year-old from Somerset charged with the murder of a 72-year-old businessman has had the case against him adjourned until 1 October.

Anthony Andrews, of Chilton Street, Bridgwater, appeared at Bristol Crown Court via a video link from the prison where he has been remanded in custody.

He is charged with killing Mike Bithrey, from Honiton, east Devon, who was stabbed in Chilton Street.

Mr Andrews' next appearance will be a plea and case management hearing.

Mr Bithrey was airlifted to Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital after the incident on 21 June but later died.
