Pair killed in Somerset A303 crash are named by police

Two people killed in a crash involving a van and a car on the A303 in Somerset have been named.

Christine Michelle Edney, 69, and 60-year-old Paul Michael Hobday from Canvey Island in Essex, died in the collision on 30 August near Ilminster.

The road was closed for an eight-mile stretch for almost five hours following the collision.

An inquest into their deaths was opened and adjourned at East Somerset Coroner's Court.
