M5 in Somerset re-opens in both directions after crash

The M5 in Somerset has re-opened following a crash.

The stretch between junctions 19 and 21 was shut in both directions at 13:15 GMT after the crash near Clevedon.

Avon and Somerset Police had advised motorists to avoid the motorway until the scene was cleared.

It reopened southbound at about 16:30 GMT and northbound at about 14:15 GMT. Firefighters rescued two adults from the wreckage.

The air ambulance attended but casualties were taken to hospital by road.

Police said the collision had led to travel disruption and a backlog of traffic.
