Residents in Bridgwater to have say on parking

People living in Bridgwater are to be asked whether they want a residents' parking permit scheme.

Sedgemoor District Council is inviting people living on streets where it is difficult to park to give their views on introducing a scheme.

A meeting is due to take place at the YMCA in Friarn Avenue later to discuss the issue.

Feedback will be given to Somerset County Council, which will decide whether to take the matter further.

Labour district councillor Julian Taylor said: "Some of the residential areas closer to the centre of town are being used by commuters to the detriment of residents and some residents feel their parking spaces outside their houses are no longer available to them."
