Body found after man seen in River Avon in Bath

Police hunting for a man who was seen in distress in the River Avon in Bath, have found a body.

Police were called to Pine's Way shortly after 04:00 GMT and managed to shout to the man but were unable to get to him before he went under again.

An RAF helicopter, and water rescue crews, have helping the search.

A mile-long stretch of water was searched before police revealed a body was found at around 12:00 GMT by underwater teams.
