YMCA to run Minehead skills training hotel

The YMCA in Bridgwater has been awarded £332,000 to establish a training and skills hotel in Minehead.

The organisation is using the old Beach Hotel to offer supported housing and hospitality and catering training courses for 16 to 24-year-olds.

It is one of 50 projects across the UK to be given a share of £27.7 million in funding from the government's Coastal Communities Fund.

About 20 new jobs, 30 apprenticeships and 50 traineeships are being created.
