Two men injured in Yeovil building collapse

Two workmen have been rescued after the first floor of an under-construction block of flats collapsed in Yeovil.

The incident happened at about 12:00 GMT on Boundary Road. Specialist teams from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue freed the pair.

South Western Ambulance Service said one man suffered head and leg injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital near Bristol.

A second man escaped with cuts and was taken to Yeovil Hospital.
