A man arrested over the death of an elderly man in a hit-and-run in Somerset has been given bail pending further inquiries, police said.

The 38-year-old, from the London area, was detained after David Hick, aged in his 80s, died after he was found with head injuries in Cole Road, Bruton.

Police have also traced a black Chrysler Grand Voyager believed to have been involved in the incident.

A man and woman who were arrested were released last week.

Mr Hick, a retired engineer, was walking to a local shop with his two dogs when he was struck by the car.
