Wellington crash: Pedestrian dies after collision with car

An 82-year-old pedestrian has died after she was hit by a car in Somerset, police have said.

The crash happened close to the Blackbird Inn, on the A38 at West Buckland, near Wellington, shortly after 17:30 GMT on Tuesday.

Phyllis Krasickyj, from the West Buckland area, was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton but died "shortly afterwards".

Police said the Citroen C3 Picasso car was travelling towards Taunton.

The female driver was spoken to by police.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
