Three people have been taken to hospital following a car collision in South Yorkshire in which one vehicle hit the front of a property.

A black Audi and grey Honda collided on the Queen's Road-Bramall Lane junction in Sheffield at about 0715 GMT.

Witnesses said the cars collided causing the Audi to spin and hit the house opposite the road junction.

The Honda driver and passenger were cut from the vehicle and are in a stable condition in hospital, police said.

Pc Michelle Hudson of South Yorkshire Police said: "At the moment we can't say what caused the collision."

An investigation into the incident has been launched and Sheffield City Council are working with the police to ensure the property is safe following the impact.

The elderly resident of the property was shaken, but not hurt in the incident, police said.
