Man 'lying in road' killed by car in Doncaster
A 30-year-old man believed to have been lying in the road was run over and killed in Doncaster, police said.
The Scawthorpe man, who has not yet been named, died at the scene after suffering fatal head injuries in the accident at 2325 GMT on Friday.
He was hit by a green Vauxhall Astra driven by a 43-year-old Woodlands man on the A368 York Road, near the junction with Stanley Road.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A green Vauxhall Astra driven by a 43-year-old man was heading out of town on the A368 approaching the junction with Stanley Road when it hit a man who was believed to have been lying in the carriageway.
"The 30-year-old Scawthorpe man suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene."
