Murder arrests after boy dies in Sheffield incident

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after an 18-year-old boy died following a public order incident in Sheffield.

Police were called to Coleridge Road in the Darnall area of the city at about 1930 GMT on Thursday.

The teenager died after he was hit by a car which mounted the pavement there.

South Yorkshire Police said a post-mortem examination was due to take place later and that the teenager would not be identified until after then.

The force said officers were looking at other incidents reported in and around Darnall that may or may not be be linked to the murder inquiry.

Witnesses or anyone who was in the Darnall area between 1800 GMT and 1900 GMT on Thursday are being asked to contact police.
