Man dies three days after Doncaster assault

A man has died three days after being assaulted in Doncaster.

Ray Eden, 42, from Moat Croft, Scawthorpe, sustained serious head injuries last Friday morning.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary but police said his condition deteriorated and he was pronounced dead on Monday night.

A man, 24, appeared at Doncaster Magistrates' Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm and has been remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Doncaster Crown Court on 29 March.

The Crown Prosecution Service said it was "awaiting further medical evidence and the opening of the inquest, following which the charge may be reviewed".
