Man dies as van crashes into Wakefield pub

A 71-year-old man died when a van crashed into a pub in Wakefield.

The man, from Wakefield, was the front seat passenger in a Nissan Primastar van, which was being driven by a 76-year-old man from Rotherham.

The van was travelling away from the Bretton roundabout towards Midgley along Bar Lane when it crashed into the corner of the Black Bull pub.

The driver was taken to Pinderfields Hospital with minor injuries after the crash at 1600 BST on Thursday.
