Men hurt after stabbings at Saddaca club in Sheffield

Three men are in hospital after being stabbed when trouble flared at a party being held at a club in Sheffield.

Police said they were alerted to the incident at the Sadacca club by the ambulance service at about 0345 BST.

A 29-year-old man from Burngreave who was stabbed in the stomach is in a serious condition in hospital.

Two other men, aged 19 and 23, are in hospital having suffered numerous stab wounds to the head. A 19-year-old man was also slashed across the face.

Police said the 19-year-old with the facial injuries was from the Chapeltown area and had been released from hospital.

The other 19-year-old is from Pitsmoor and the 23-year-old is from Norwood.

South Yorkshire Police said the club and part of the Wicker was cordoned off for forensic enquiries.

Patrols have been stepped up in the area and officers are due to examine CCTV footage from the club.

A 28-year-old man from Wincobank has been arrested for possession of a knife.

Det Insp Bob Chapman said: "The inquiry is in its initial stages and it is too early to say what sparked this incident.

"We're trying to get a clear picture of what happened and are therefore appealing for anyone at or near the club at around 3.45am this morning, who has information about events, to contact South Yorkshire Police."
