Sheffield motorway sign crash driver dies

A 42-year-old man died when his car crashed into a road sign on the M1 motorway in South Yorkshire.

Police said the Vauxhall Vectra was travelling northbound at junction 31 when it drifted on to the hard shoulder and hit a sign.

The driver, a man from Wincobank, Sheffield, died from his injuries.

South Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the crash to contact them.
