Sheffield murder victim named as Jamie Stuart

Murder detectives have named a 19-year-old man who was stabbed to death in Sheffield.

Jamie Stuart, of Orchard Close, Ecclesfield, was found injured by a passer-by in Holgate Avenue in Parsons Cross at about 00:30 BST on Saturday.

A post-mortem examination found that Mr Stuart died from stab wounds.

Police said two men and a juvenile had been released without charge. Officers are continuing to question a man and youth on suspicion of murder.

Mr Stuart was taken to the Northern General Hospital but later died.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said it was believed he had earlier been at a function at the White Horse Pub in Halifax Road and left there at about 23:00 to make his way home towards the Ecclesfield area.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
