A teenager has been charged with the murder of a man found with fatal stab wounds on a pavement in Sheffield.

Jamie Stuart, 19, of Ecclesfield, Sheffield, was found injured by a passer-by in Holgate Avenue, Parsons Cross, at about 00:30 BST on Saturday.

A post-mortem examination found that Mr Stuart died from stab wounds.

A 19-year-old man has been charged with his murder and is due to appear before magistrates in the city on Monday, South Yorkshire Police said.

After being found, Mr Stuart was taken to the Northern General Hospital but died there.

Police believe he had earlier been at a function at the White Horse Pub in Halifax Road and left there at about 23:00 to make his way home towards the Ecclesfield area.
