Man seriously hurt in Sheffield car crash

A 34-year-old man has been left with life-threatening injuries after a four-car crash in Sheffield.

The collision occurred in the early hours of Sunday on Harborough Avenue.

The man sustained a head injury, a broken pelvis and ribs, and was taken to Northern General Hospital.

A 46-year-old taxi driver was also taken to the same hospital to be treated for spinal injuries. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The accident involved a red Vauxhall Corsa, a blue Ford Mondeo, a blue Vauxhall Vectra and a stationary silver Ford Mondeo.

South Yorkshire Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the cars being driven before the crash, or who saw the collision occur.
