Sheffield hit and run: Police appeal for information

A 48-year-old cyclist has suffered life threatening injuries in a hit and run incident in Sheffield.

Police said the bicycle he was riding was hit by a car, on Longley Lane in Sheffield, on Friday at 12:10 BST.

A light green Audi A3 was seen overtaking the cyclist, but left the scene after hitting the man.

The cyclist is being treated at the Northern General Hospital after sustaining head injuries and a broken hip.

Police said the car was likely to have sustained damage in the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to call South Yorkshire Police.
