Sheffield bus crash teenager badly hurt near Bar One

An 18-year-old woman from Suffolk who was struck by a double-decker bus in Sheffield city centre has suffered life-threatening injuries.

It happened at about 17:15 GMT on Wednesday on the Glossop Road after the teenager had left the Bar One pub, police said.

She suffered serious head injuries and a punctured lung and is being treated at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

The bus driver, a 48-year-old man from Sheffield, was uninjured.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
