Three Sheffield trams damaged by football fans

Three trams in Sheffield were damaged after a football match at Hillsborough on Saturday.

South Yorkshire Police said the damage was caused by a number football fans, believed to be Millwall, after the club had played Sheffield Wednesday.

A spokeswoman for Supertram said there was a significant amount of damage, including broken doors and smashed windows.

The police said no-one was injured in the incident.

Supertram said it had provided the police with CCTV footage to help with the investigation.
