Man in court over Sheffield stabbing murder

The crime scene Police said they have reopened Blackstock Road but will remain in the area over the weekend

A 44-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman in Sheffield.

Dimitrina Borisova, 46, from Hillsborough, died from stab wounds after being attacked in Blackstock Road on Thursday.

Erhan Mehmedov, 44, from Blackstock Road, was remanded in custody by Sheffield magistrates and will appear at the city's crown court on 1 March.

A woman in her 70s is also being held in connection with the incident.

South Yorkshire Police said Blackstock Road had been reopened to traffic and police activity would continue in the area over the weekend.
