Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a church organist who was attacked on Christmas Eve.

Alan Greaves, 68, died three days after he was assaulted in the street as he made his way to Midnight Mass at St Saviour's Church near his home in High Green, Sheffield.

Jonathan Bowling, 22, of Carwood Way, Burngreave, and Ashley Foster, 21, of Wesley Road, High Green, did not enter a plea at Sheffield Crown Court.

A trial date has been set for 24 June.
