A maintenance worker has been summonsed to court over the death of a two-year-old girl who fell from the fourth floor of a block of flats in Sheffield.

Ryaheen Banimuslem fell 60ft (18m) from the North Bank apartments on Willey Street in June 2012.

She fell from a communal garden balcony which was missing a glass panel, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.

Robert Warner, 44, of Brooklands Croft, Wales, near Rotherham, faces a charge of gross negligence manslaughter.

The CPS said Mr Warner had been contracted to carry out maintenance work in the apartments.

He has been summonsed to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on 13 August.
