Rotherham Crematorium gravediggers to strike over jobs
Gravediggers at Rotherham Crematorium have voted to strike over threatened job losses.
Three out of 12 ground maintenance staff face redundancy at the site, public sector union Unison said.
Glendale Services, grounds maintenance contractor for Rotherham Council, said it was still in talks with crematorium staff over the planned redundancies.
The date and duration of the strike action at the crematorium is yet to be decided.
Half of the 12-strong ground maintenance team at Rotherham Crematorium are members of the union.
Dignity, which runs Rotherham Council's bereavement services, said funeral services will continue as normal at the site.
