Sheffield murder inquiry launched after fatal stabbing

Murder scene Sheffield Police have been carrying out inquiries in the area including searching drains

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Sheffield.

Joe Walker, from Intake, Sheffield, was found injured on land just off Raynald Road, in the Manor area of the city, at about 05:00 BST on Saturday.

South Yorkshire Police said a post-mortem examination found the 23-year-old died from a single stab wound.

Officers said investigations into the exact circumstances of Mr Walker's death were continuing.

Police have been searching drains and carrying out door to door inquiries in the area.
