A man has pleaded guilty to murdering his partner at their Sheffield home.

The body of 39-year-old Anayat Bibi was discovered by officers from South Yorkshire Police at a house in Vickers Road, Firth Park, on 10 August. She had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Mazhar Nawab, 43, of Vickers Road, admitted the killing and is due to be sentenced at the same court on 28 January.

Det Ch Insp Sean Middleton said Ms Bibi died following a "sustained attack".

He added: ""I am pleased that Nawab entered a guilty plea today and spared Anayat's family the distress and ordeal of a trial."
