Sheffield kidnapping: Two charged and four arrested

Two men have been charged with kidnapping following an armed police operation in Sheffield.

Officers were called to the Gleadless area at about 18:00 GMT on Friday.

Mubarrack Hassan, 24, and Ahmed Ismail, 22, are charged with two counts of kidnap, two counts of false imprisonment, three counts of blackmail and firearm offences.

A 30-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and remain in custody.

A 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, who were also held under the same offence, have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Mr Hassan, of Glossop Road, Broomhill, and Mr Ismail, of Exeter Drive, Broomhall, have been remanded in custody and both are due to appear before Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Police said enquiries were continuing, but officers did not believe there was "a continued risk to any individuals or any risk to the wider community".
