South Yorkshire woman, 80, dies after car crash

An 80-year-old woman has died from her injuries after her car hit two parked vehicles on a Barnsley street.

The incident happened at 11:00 GMT on Saturday on Skiers View Road opposite the junction with Greno View in the Hoyland area of the town.

South Yorkshire Police said the driver was taken to hospital with injuries that were not thought to be serious.

But her condition deteriorated overnight and she died on Sunday. Police are appealing for witnesses.
