The family of an 11-year-old girl killed in a crash in Doncaster have paid tribute to "a lively outgoing girl everyone fell in love with".

Ella Smith was hit by a Citroen C3 on Watch House Lane in Bentley at 16:35pm on Thursday. She died later in hospital.

Ella was part of the Young Voices Choir and had recently sung at Sheffield Arena.

In a statement, her family said the 11-year-old "had a heart of gold".

"She loved being with her friends and was always face-timing them," the family added.

"Ella's biggest love was her granddad Tony and going to watch The Dons Rugby Team.

"She had her rugby shirt out and hung on her wardrobe ready to wear and use with her first season ticket."
