Man charged over 'sex attack burglary' in Sheffield

A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 71-year-old woman during a burglary at her home in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police said Martin Holmes, 52, of Machon Bank, Nether Edge, would appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He is charged with aggravated burglary and two counts of sexual assault.

Police said the victim was threatened with a knife and had money and jewellery stolen from her house in the Norton Lees area on Tuesday.
