Rotherham crash leaves man with life-threatening injuries

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing in Rotherham.

The 60-year-old was struck by a black Volkswagen Golf on Bawtry Road, at the Flash Lane junction, at about 15:30 BST on Sunday.

South Yorkshire Police said the car was travelling toward Wickersley when the man was knocked down on the crossing.

Officers have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
