Labour retains hold on Doncaster

Labour has retained control of Doncaster Council in the local elections.

The party had lost six seats, and the Conservative and UKIP also lost one seat each, in the polls on Thursday.

The council now has 41 Labour councillors, eight Conservative members, four Independents and two UKIP members.

The votes for councillors were cast on Thursday, but the result only published on Saturday afternoon.
