Det Ch Insp Steve Handley said: "This is a really positive result for our inquiry and I am pleased that a jury has convicted Sadiq of murder based on the overwhelming evidence we were able to put before the court."

South Yorkshire Police has said it wants to trace 29-year-old Sohail Khan in connection with its ongoing investigation into Mr Hussain's death.

Mr Handley said it was believed Mr Khan had travelled to Pakistan but the force was "working hard to identify opportunities to apprehend him and bring him before the courts".

The force is also appealing for anyone who may have seen a car used used by Mr Hussain's attackers.

The vehicle is described as a silver/grey Peugeot 307 with the registration number MC57 BZP.

Three men, aged 35, 32 and 31, who were arrested in connection with the incident are on police bail.
