Sheffield brothers injured in crash die in hospital

Two brothers have died in hospital after being hit by a car in Sheffield.

Arthur Sharkey, 79, and John Raymond Sharkey, 77, sustained serious head injuries when they were knocked down in Glenorchy Road, Nether Edge.

John Sharkey died on 17 June while his brother died on 18 July. Details of the incident, which happened at about 14:25 BST on 2 June, have only just been released by South Yorkshire Police.

The force has appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The 24-year-old driver of the Audi involved in the collision was interviewed under caution at the time.
