South Yorkshire PC in court over dangerous driving

A South Yorkshire Police officer has appeared in court in connection with a crash that left a motorist with serious spinal injuries.

PC Gareth Lee, 26, was charged with causing injury by dangerous driving after the patrol car he was in collided with another vehicle in Sheffield.

The collision happened on 23 October at the junction of Bellhouse Road and Ecclesfield Road.

An Independent Police Complaints Commission inquiry has been launched.
