Six hurt in M6 motorway collision in Staffordshire

Six people were taken to hospital after several vehicles collided on the M6 motorway in Staffordshire.

Two cars and a small van were involved in the incident between junctions 14 and 15 at about 0415 BST, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

A man, in his 30s, was initially trapped in the car he was driving.

His passenger suffered neck and back injuries. Two women in the second car and two men from the van were treated for minor injuries, the spokesman said.

Four ambulances and the Hazardous Area Response Team were sent to the scene.
