A man has been arrested by officers investigating the disappearance of a Polish woman in Staffordshire.

Police have said they are "extremely concerned" about the welfare of Sylwia Ciapcinska, 24.

She was last seen on 20 July in Ash Street, Burton upon Trent, where she lived.

A 29-year-old man from Burton was arrested on Sunday and was due to be questioned, Staffordshire Police said.

Ms Ciapcinska had been in the UK for two weeks when she went missing. She has made previous visits to the area from Poland, police said.

Concerns raised

She was working for distribution company Amethyst Logistics at Fradley Park, Lichfield, but did not turn up for work on 21 July.

Police said her disappearance, which was reported by her housemates, was "out of character".

On the day she was last seen, she was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and had been carrying a white and grey shoulder bag.

She is described as being of slim build with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who has seen her or has information about her whereabouts is urged to call Staffordshire Police.
