Staffordshire Police releases drug seizure figure

Staffordshire Police made more than 3,000 seizures of controlled drugs in 2009/10, Home Office figures show.

The statistics, which cover 1 April 2009 to 31 March 2010, show 3,297 seizures were handled by officers.

The force started Operation Nemesis in 2007 which aims to tackle drug misuse in communities and has led to "many" convictions, a spokesman said.
