Builders crane used to rescue man in Staffordshire

A man was lowered from a roof using a builders crane after he became injured in Staffordshire.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to the Wolverhampton Road, in Essington, at 0900 GMT on Wednesday.

She said it was believed the man had become injured when a number of roofing gables toppled over.

She added the man, believed to be in his 40's, was airlifted to hospital, to be treated for chest and back injuries.
