The family of a 35-year-old man, who was found dead at a house in Stafford, have paid tribute to him.

Mark Carroll's body was discovered at an address in Marston Road on Tuesday. Staffordshire Police believe he had been dead since January.

Simon Taylor, also 35, and from Marston Road, has been charged with Mr Carroll's murder.

He was due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on Friday but did not due to medical reasons.

He appeared at Cannock Magistrates' Court on Thursday where he was remanded into custody. Mr Taylor is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on 10 June for a plea and case management hearing.

In a statement released by police Mr Carroll's family said: "Mark was, and always will be deeply loved by us.

"We are devastated and totally shattered by the loss of our beloved son and brother."
