Classic car couple hurt in crash on A38 Wychnor Bridges

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital after their open-topped classic car collided with another car and overturned.

Parmedics were called to the A38 at Wychnor Bridges in Staffordshire on Saturday afternoon.

The couple in the classic car, a man in his 50s and the female passenger also in her 50s, suffered head injuries and were airlifted to hospital.

The driver of the second car suffered shock, an ambulance spokesman said.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the man was flown to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, while the woman was flown to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
