Motorcyclist hurt in Staffordshire sheep crash

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after crashing into a sheep in Staffordshire.

Paramedics were called to the junction of Leek Road and Common Lane in Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday morning.

The man, believed to be aged in his 50s, was found lying on the road, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The man had chest, shoulder and knee pain but was conscious. The sheep died in the collision.

An ambulance spokesman said: "The man had chest, shoulder and knee pain but was conscious, alert and stable.

"He was airlifted to University Hospital North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment."
