Staffordshire soldier pleads not guilty to rape charges

A serving soldier from Staffordshire has pleaded not guilty to raping a woman in Stoke-on-Trent.

Nathan Chinn-Shaw, 25, is based at Catterick Garrison, an Army barracks in North Yorkshire.

Appearing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday, he denied two charges of rape and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The trial date has been set for 7 November and is expected to last for three days. He is on police bail.
